It is a plant with strong beekeeping interest. It prefers sunny planting spots and it can grow in coastal areas. It is grown in poor soils, dry, sandy, even in calcareous ones. It has ornamental foliage which is diverse with exposed nerves. Its flower is blue- purple and it is used also as fresh or cut flower.
