Description
Latin name: Abies nordmanniana
Dimensions: Maximum height 20- 25m./ Maximum diameter 7- 10m.
The Caucasus spruce is a pyramid- shaped, slow- growing conifer. The first 10 years it doesn’t exceed the 2.5- 3m. height. It has a rich, dense foliage with flat and narrow needles that have a bright blue top surface and a greenish bottom one with a strong, central rib. Its bark is smooth and gray. Very durable species that doesn’t have special requirements. It prefers deep, acidic and wet soils.
