Impressive, bulbous plant, with rich and aromatic flowering in late winter to early spring. Its flowers are trumpet- shaped. Its leaves are linear, erect or slightly convex, and emerge from the base of the plant in bunches. It prefers sunny planting locations, but it grows well in partial shade too. It requires good soil drainage and it grows easily in many soil types.
