Harvest: June- August (depending on the region)
The tomato is a plant native to Central and South America, from Mexico to Peru. It only lives a few years and is usually grown as an annual plant. The tomato is grown outdoors in the summer months and in a greenhouse the rest of the year, due to its sensitivity to low temperatures.
