Description
Latin name: Citrus sinensis ‘Cara Cara’
Flowering: April- May
Dimensions: Maximum height 8- 10m./ Maximum diameter 4- 5m.
It is an evergreen, slow- growing fruit tree with glossy leaves and compact vegetation. It is considered the same tree as Merlin, which is a sweet orange but with red flesh. It is not sour like the saguin. It is more resistant to frost than other citrus fruits and needs proper fertilization and watering. It has white, fragrant flowering in spring and large, orange fruits ripening in late autumn. It prefers sunny places and fertile soils.
