Description
Latin name: Magnifera indica
Flowering: May- October (depending on the variety)
Mango is an evergreen, tropical, fruit- bearing tree originating in India, where the second part of its name comes from. It has a thick earl with deep green, leathery leaves and small, aromatic, yellowish flowers. It belongs to the stone fruits and its fruits are large, spherical or oval, they can weigh up to 0.5kg and are quite juicy. It does not withstand very cold temperatures and prolonged frosts. It prefers fertile and deep soils with good drainage because it does not withstand moisture.
