Description
Latin name: Phyllostachys nigra
Dimensions: Maximum height 5- 10m.
All bamboos have woody trunks, are evergreen or semi- evergreen and need moist soils, sandy and rich in organic matter. Species resistant to drought and adverse weather conditions, it has beautiful, black stems and is usually planted to create dense hedges. Their difference is that their initially green stems turn black after the 3rd year.
