Description
Latin Name: Pachira aquatica
Dimensions: Maximum height: 2- 2.5m. indoors, 18- 20m. in its natural environment
It is a tropical, evergreen tree of small growth, used in Greece as an indoor plant. It has large, shiny, green, leathery leaves, complex, which create a “palm” with lanceolate leaflets and their veins are visible. Its stems are smooth and green and its trunk is smooth with gray- brown bark. It has a central, thick root, and smaller ones around. When it is in its natural environment, it will also produce yellowish flowers. It prefers moist soils, rich, with good drainage, and places with strong indirect light.
