Description
Latin name: Myrtus luma (Luma apiculata)
Flowering: July- August
Dimensions: Maximum height 2.5- 3m./ Maximum earl diameter 2- 2.5m.
Erect, multibranched shrub or small tree with dense vegetation. It has evergreen, fragrant, green foliage with pointed and shiny, slightly oval leaves, larger than the common myrtle ones. It grows larger than the common myrtle and displays white flowers during flowering, with long, central, creamy white stamens that later produce black fruits. In winter it is pruned lightly. It has no particular requirements, but prefers well- drained soils.
