It is a Mediterranean area tree, deciduous, fruit tree that can be also planted outside the Mediterranean area, in a southern exposure and protected. It has bright green, serrated foliage with ribs. It bears fruit throughout the summer period, depending on the variety. It can live in any type of soil.
