ILEX CRENATA (ΙΛΗΞ Ο ΟΔΟΝΤΩΤΟΣ)

Description

Latin name: Ilex crenata
Flowering: May- June
Dimensions: Maximum height 3- 5m.
It is an evergreen shrub or small tree of medium but slow growth. Its leaves are small, glossy, slightly oblong, dark green and wavy. The male and female plants are separate, with white, four- leaf flowers. Its fruit is small, round and black (like blueberry) and ripens in September to October. It is suitable for low borders, and can replace very well the buxus. It can grow very well in shady and semi- shaded spots. It grows well in acidic, neutral and alkaline soils.
