It is an evergreen plant that needs semi- shaded planting locations. It prefers calcareous soils and withstands drought. It has nice, oblong, dark green foliage that is marked with light nerves. Its flowers are very important for the beekeeping and can be used also as cut flowers. They grow as large grapes.
