Description
Latin name: Ginkgo biloba
Dimensions: Maximum height 18- 20m./ Maximum diameter 5- 6m.
It is the only representative, today, of a group of fossil plants from Jurassic period. It belongs to the conifers, but is the only one that differs externally. It is deciduous and has light green leaves in a fan shape, which are considered to be pharmaceuticals (they help the memory) and become golden- yellow in autumn before falling. The first 10 years, its height is no more than 2- 2.5 m. It is slow- growing and resistant to many soil types.
