Latin Name: Pistacia lentiscus var. chia

It is an evergreen shrub or slow- growing tree with long life span. It has green, complex foliage and red fruits. It needs low altitudes and thrives in coastal areas. It can withstand drought, but not frost. The main use of this plant is the production of mastic, which occurs when the trunk tears. It has no particular soil requirements.
